The National Aquatics Center, also known as the Water Cube, reopened to the public on Saturday after hosting the welcome banquet for world leaders who attended the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting in the capital earlier this month.

The special APEC tour experience will allow visitors to check out Chinese tableware and clothes specially designed for the APEC banquet, take photos at the spots where APEC leaders had their photos taken, and sample the traditional Chinese snacks served during the APEC banquet.

The food was so welcomed by visitors that the 1,000 set menus prepared for the first day were sold out by 11am.

The best-seller features four different kinds of Chinese snacks and is priced at 28 yuan ($4.6).

The special APEC featured tour experience is scheduled to be held for two months, but Water Cube management may consider an extension if many visitors continue to show up by the deadline.
