Yuncheng promotes tourism in Beijing

Shanxi's Yuncheng city has planned a series of tourism promotion events during the National Day holiday (October 1-7).

Folk dance will showcased at the 2015 Beijing International Tourism Festival on Oct 1, according to the organizer.

The city has reached agreements with 100 Beijing travel agencies, said an official with the local tourism bureau at the kickoff ceremony in Beijing on Sept 30.

They are expected to bring Beijing tourists to Yuncheng in the future.In the meanwhile, incentives will be offered to travel agencies that organize group tours to Yuncheng.

The city was one of the important cradles of Chinese civilization and abounds in cultural heritage. “We should take advantage of the high-speed rail and flight resources in Beijing and let more Beijing residents better understand what Yuncheng has to offer,” said Li Sujie, head of Yuncheng the foreign affairs and cultural tourism bureau.

The city aims to spend three to five years developing flower resources and turn itself into an ideal destination for blossom trips in northern China, the organizer said.
