Wukesong Fair, a popular Beijing winter fair known for goods of low price and high quality, opened on Dec 19 and runs through early February.

It occupies 8,000 square meters in Wukesong, Haidian district, with sellers from 20 provinces offering a host of items people need to spend winter days comfortably, from clothes to food and daily necessities. Organizers say the goods are priced as low as one-third of the usual retail price, because they are sold directly by the manufacturers.

The most impressive goods at the market are the fresh agricultural products from different parts of the country and abroad, such as "fragrant oranges" from Sichuan province, navel oranges from Guangxi, apples from Shandong, mangos from Thailand and Hainan province, and sausages from Guangdong, Hunan, Heilongjiang and Hebei provinces.

There are also liquors from Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Guizhou, and Zhejiang.

Beijing Haoyue Zhongtian Exhibition Company launched the fair six years ago.
