The funeral parlor in Aksu city in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region admitted they burned the wrong body and offered 70,000 yuan in compensation for their mistake, Yaxin.com reported.
Funeral parlors are supposed to ask families to sign a cremation authorization form before any remains are incinerated.
