The continuing fog and haze has led to an 8-year-old girl contracting lung cancer, according to a hospital in East China's Jiangsu province.

Dr. Feng Dongjie of Jiangsu Cancer Hospital said the girl lives close to a road, where inhalable particles accumulate in large amounts, especially in foggy and hazy weather, China News Service reported.

More young men, age 30 to 40, are contracting lung cancer, the report said.
