Provincial sports administration move to continue paying salary to Li Na, the two-time Grand Slam champion, has been defended by the director of tennis center in Hubei province, Xinhua reported on Saturday.

Since Li is still a member of Hubei tennis center, it is fine to pay her salary, said the director.

Li, who broke off from the State-funded team at the WTA tournaments, is currently managing her own money and also the millions in bonuses, so when it was revealed that Hubei provincial tennis association was still paying her salary, it ignited a lot of anger on Internet.

Two modes of Gaokao

There will be two modes of gaokao (college entrance examinations) will be held in two modes to develop both academic and technical talents in the future, Vice Minister of Education Lu Xin said at the Top Forum of China Development on Saturday, Xinhua reported.

One of the main problems facing the labor market is the lack of professional technicians. Therefore, apart from the traditional way of Gaokao that selects academic talents, the new mode aims to develop people with professional skills.

"Students can choose their career direction as soon as they step into high school," Lu said.
