Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, said the Chinese Dream for her is that everybody should have access to first-class education. "I wish all students around the world, especially girls, could receive fine education as you do," Peng said to art and science school students in Essen, Nordrhein-Westfale in Germany, on the sideline of the couple's visit to the country.

The first lady attended a Chinese-language class while the teacher was explaining the Chinese character "dream" to students.

Li Na makes fun of husband

China's tennis No.1 Li Na has never forgotten her husband – as far as jokes go. She thanked all the members of her team except her husband at the post-match interview at the Sony Open final where she lost to Serena William in Miami on Saturday.

"…The last one I want to thank is my husband. But who cares about him? (laughs)". The reigning Australian Open champion is famous for her humor in front of media.

Have a breath of fresh air

People in Zhengzhou, capital city of Central China's Henan province, experienced something unique on Saturday when they enjoyed fresh air from bags.

Fresh air from Luanchuan county was transported to Zhengzhou in 20 pillow-sized plastic bags, which attracted a large number of people to have a try. The campaign was held to raise awareness on environment protection and healthy lifestyle.

First conviction for Apple service provider

Shanghai Zhabei People's Court recently handed down the first criminal conviction to an Apple authorized service provider who illegally exchanged parts from stolen iPhones to make "new" ones to make money, Shanghai Morning Post reported. Since the middle of 2013, many iPhones had been stolen in Shanghai and local police discovered that many of the phones were taken "for repairs" to Aifeng Workshop, an Apple authorized service provider in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.

Woman upset over fine drinks poison

A female truck owner, upset at being fined for her overloaded truck, drank pesticide she had been carrying in front of traffic officials, the Guangzhou-based South Metropolitan Daily reported on Friday. The woman, who was hospitalized, is in stable condition but under clinical observation. The officers said they felt sorry but refused to reduce the fine.

Man in coma after rescuing falling woman

A man in Dalian suffered injuries and remains in a coma after catching an elderly woman who had jumped from a three-story building, Liaoshen Evening News reported on Friday.

Cui Quanshan, 42, a resident of Ganjingzi district, saved his 97-year-old neighbor, surnamed Lin. Both were sent to a local hospital and were listed in stable condition.
