Foreigner says no to unruly driver
A foreigner stood in front of a car that was on a bicycle lane in Beijing, insisting that it left the track, according to photos shared by a netizen called Pin-shechilongxiaoye on Twitter-like Sina Weibo on Saturday.
The photos drew about 7,000 comments on the social media platform.
"I hope more Chinese learn from this brave expat to stand out and say no to bad habits," said Junmaoguoji.
"If it were not a laowai (foreigner), I bet he/she who stands in front of the car will be beaten up," said Linxiaohao.
Despite thumbs-up given to the foreigner, some argued that attention should be paid to China's poor road traffic.
"Our attention should be turned from this foreigner with the sense of justice to China's roads. China has just become an 'auto society', and it will take a long time to cultivate proper driving habit," said Baobohai.
"The brave foreigner deserves our respect, but the bad traffic on the road is to blame for the driver's violation," said Jessica-hua.
