Tourist breaks emperor chair

A tourist broke a replica wooden emperor chair worth 200,000 yuan ($32,540) when he violated the museum's rules by sitting on it in Yuejianglou, a tourist resort in Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu province, people.com.cn reported on Wednesday.

The tourist, surnamed Wang, strode over the rail around the chair and sat on it to take a photo when the head of a dragon-shaped handrail broke off.

Staff called the police and sent for a maintenance personnel who confirmed the break was caused by external force. After negotiating, Wang paid 3,000 yuan in compensation.
