Elders race for supermarket bargains
Marathons and color runs are talk of the town, but have you seen another type of race taking place at many supermarkets?
Two foreigners, Jonathan Meador and Jonathon Lim, recorded the spectacle happening in front of a supermarket from their apartment in Shanghai.
Chinese seniors, mostly retired citizens, are enthusiastic about snapping up discount goods offered by supermarkets in the early hours of the day. So as soon the supermarket opens its doors, they race inside to get their hands on bargains.
