Banknote wakes up man in coma
A man who had been in a coma for more than a year was recently woken up by a 100-yuan ($16) banknote, Southern Metropolis Daily reported.
Xiao Li fell into coma after spending days without sleeping at an Internet bar in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province, in August 2013. In March 2014, he started reacting to the outside world by flickering his fingers and moving his eyes.
When a nurse took out a 100-yuan note from her pocket and swayed it in front of Xiao, he held up a hand to grab it. Though it took him five minutes to grab the note, the doctors said the move showed that Xiao has regained consciousness.
It may still take a while for the lucky man to recover fully before being finally discharged from hospital.
