'Silent' restaurant hires deaf-mutes
"Waiter!"
Hey! If you are used to ordering your dish, you will have to change the habit in this newly opened "silent" restaurant in Changchun city, Jinlin province.
All the waiters and waitresses hired by the hot-pot restaurant are deaf-mutes, who can only answer your requests by receiving a signal on their wrists, according to a report by enews.xwh.cn.
On each table, there are also pictures of sign language explaining the different orders, which helps the customers communicate with the staff.
The restaurant is the first of its kind in Changchun. It was opened to provide more jobs for those with disabilities.
