Unreasonable speed limit signs test drivers
Traffic signs are meant to guarantee smooth traffic and the safety of motorists. The improper installment of signs, however, may lead to serious problems.
Three speed-limit signs, 40km/h, 80km/h, and 40km/h respectively, were installed in a row within the short distance of 120 meters on Sigangliandong road of Zhengzhou, capital of Central China's Henan province, jinbw.com.cn reported on Friday.
The unreasonable speed-limit signs both amused and annoyed drivers.
A driver, surnamed Chen, said an experienced driver would have to slam on the brakes to slow his speed from 80 km/h to 40km/h in 60 meters, and joked that "it tests drivers' technique in hitting the brakes".
