Senior finds mystery benefactor after seven years

Liu Tianrong searched for her mystery benefactor for seven years before finally tracking him down, reported chinanews.com on Wednesday.

Back in 2008, Liu, in her fifties, was about to retire and lived on minimum living subsidy in Pei county, East China's Jiangsu province. One day, when she crossed a road, the woman was almost hit by a car because she was worrying about the pension premium she needed to pay. However, instead of yelling at her, the good-hearted driver got out of the car and asked Liu what she was worried about.

After learning about her troubles, the driver left 5,000 yuan ($800) at Liu's home the next day without leaving his name. Liu noticed the man drove a car with the license plate ending in "0069". Since then, she had been looking for the car.

To find the good-hearted driver, she went to the police office and vehicle administration office, which could not disclose his name due to privacy considerations. It was during one of her visits to a TV station that she learned the driver's car likely belonged to the Party school of the local Party committee. Then the woman managed to contact the driver through phone number provided by the school.
