"Japanese" war reenactor dies another day

An actor who plays a Japanese soldier in reenactments of China's resistance against Japan (1937-1945) in a cultural park, said he has "died" more than 6000 times in the shows in the past four years, reported Chinese legal newspaper The Mirror.

"Whatever the plot may be, I always die in the end," Yang Lei said, adding that their shows in a Shanxi cultural park are extremely popular on weekends and public holidays.

"Some audience members threw bottled water and shoes at me during the show, in 2012 and 2013. It is really painful but I have to continue performing, " said Yang.

In our final story, Beijing's "trousers" may need another wash due to Wednesday's epic sandstorm.
