A 23-year-old woman surnamed Chen moved a robber so deeply that he let her go on May 27, ahscb.com, a local news portal reported.

Chen encountered the robber when she was alone in an elevator. Despite being held up, she remained calm and asked whether the robber needed any help after learning he was in debt, and kindly recommended that he apply for a loan, promising that she could help.

She even accompanied him to get a Band-Aid after he cut his finger accidentally during the robbery. Deeply moved, the robber finally let Chen go.

Note to robbers: next time you think women are easy prey, you may need to think again.

Huang Lin (alias), a 25-year-old resident in Ningde, Fujian province, was terrified when a robber held her up at knife-point. She was withdrawing cash from the ATM by herself in the early morning of Feb 11, 2015.

Just 16 seconds later, the gutsy woman managed to grab the knife from the robber, who was later caught by two passers-by.

The robber, 23, surnamed Cai, admitted to police that he did this for money after he was fired and was struggling to make ends meet. He used the 70-centimeter-long machete to "boost his courage".
