Girl stands on blades to help family

For a 13-year-old-girl, it should be the golden season of her life. But one such girl in Zhejiang has to perform dangerous stunt to help support her family.

Xiaoxie started performing around the country with her father, a professional busker, at a young age. Her performances include magic and standing barefoot on blades, a stunt traditionally viewed as exclusive to male performers, reported dfic.cn.

Xiaoxie's father said his daughter's show is popular and she can earn hundreds of yuan for one night's performance.

However, the busy performance schedule has hurt the girl's education. Once, when her father took Xiaoxie on a three-month tour, the teacher had to call the dad many times to require the girl go back to school.

But Xiaoxie is optimistic about her future: "I can finish schooling online if I want to." If possible, she said she would like to go to senior high school for further study.
