Prestigious universities fight ugly

The most prestigious universities in China, Tsinghua University and Peking University, are very aggressive when it comes to recruiting outstanding students with very high scores.

The two universities have been promoting themselves on Weibo. On Sunday, Peking Univesity's Sichuan recruitment team accused the recruitment team of "some other" top university of calling the top ten students, who chose to go to Peking University, and telling them that Peking University would not let them choose their majors.

Though Peking University's Weibo account didn't point fingers at any specific university, Tsinghua's Sichuan recruitment team reposted Peking University's Weibo comment in order to fight the accusation.

Soon the two universities had a public spat on Weibo and became a trending topic on the social platform.

After the public spat on Weibo, both universities deleted all the Weibo posts involved in the fight. Tsinghua University left a post saying, "We will keep in mind that a man should never lose their temper and never quarrel" and Peking University's Weibo account stopped posting, saying, "This account is inactive and will not be answering further questions".
