Scorching fitness equipment cooks shrimp

As summer reaches its peak, many are wondering just how hot it can get. In the spirit of experimentation, a man barbecued some meat and shrimp on some fitness equipment as this summer's first orange heat alert was issued in Beijing on Monday, fawan.com reported.

The fitness equipment, which lies in the middle of a square, had been exposed to the sunshine from 8: 00 in the morning, and by 10: 20 a.m., the temperature of its metallic surface had reached as high as 58 degrees Centigrade.

The meat and shrimp placed on the equipment changed color after half an hour, having been cooked by the scorching surface.
