Businessman builds $12m private garden
A 43-year-old businessman, surnamed Li, created a private garden costing 80 million yuan ($12 million) in Beibei District, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.
There are more than 50 rare trees and 900 tons of stones including rockeries, orchard and pavilion, in the 3000-square-meter garden, cqwb.com.cn, a Chongqing news portal reported.
Trees are his pride and his precious collection includes Podocarpus, gingko and camellias, said Li. A millennium Podocarpus cost him 6.8 million yuan.
Rockeries, which used 400 tons of stones and cost him 200,000 yuan just on design, are also his favorite.
Li bought two villas at a residential district in a beautiful neighborhood in 2010, and decided to create a private garden as he fond of trees and plants. He spent five years creating it.
