Old couples sit in parking spaces for their children

Parental love is usually great. But looking at it from an outsider's point of view, it sometimes looks queer.

During rush hour in Nanjing, East China's Nanjing province, a senior couple sat in two parking spaces to reserve parking for the vehicles of their son and daughter-in-law. Modern Express reported on Saturday that everyday the couple wears heavy coats and sit on the road from 4 pm to 5 pm waiting for the vehicles to arrive.

The elderly woman, surnamed Zhou, said that her family pays monthly parking fees of 600 RMB ($90) but is unsecured with her parking spaces, forcing her and her husband to sit there and wait for their son and his wife.

The report says there are 151 parking spaces on Yancangqiao road in Nanjing. But in an area with several residential buildings, the parking demand exceeds the supply.
