Now, here's a man whose adventure with his son will either bring a smile to your face or leave you seething with anger.
Zhang Junguang, a truck driver and a roller-skating enthusiast, took his four-year-old son on a 500 kilometer trip on roller skates, reported chinanews.com on Thursday.
The journey, which began in Puyang in Henan province on March 22 and ended at Tian'anmen Square in Beijing on April 4, took 14 days to complete.
The father carried his son's clothes, food and medications in his backpack.
"Everyday before we hit the road, I booked or checked online where we're going to stay at night. The trip cost us about 3,000 yuan ($463) in total," said Zhang.
The duo visited many landmarks in Beijing during their eight-day stay in the capital and then took train back home. On the way to Beijing, Zhang took more than 600 photos and posted them online, generating much attention.
In reply to many internet users who asked whether a four-year-old should undertake such a long trip, Zhang, 39, replied his son was fine during the whole trip.
He added that his son was very proud about the trip and told everyone he met on the way that he was traveling with his father.
Zhang said he believes traveling is as same important as reading books. He admitted that although the trip was tough but it helped the child understand the importance of persistence and hard work.
The father said their next destination will be Qingdao in summer holidays. "I'm planning to take my son to one place a year, to travel across the nation," he added.
