Chinese shares end up - May 9

BEIJING -- Chinese shares closed higher Monday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.3 points, or 8.57 points, to 2,872.46.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.48 percent, or 57.4 points, to end at 12,125.01.
