China's Jan-April insurance premiums hit 570.8b yuan

BEIJING -- The combined value of China's insurance premiums rose to 570.8 billion yuan ($87.8 billion) in the first four months of this year, up 109.08 billion yuan from the figure in the January-March period, the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) said Monday.
The total value of life insurance premiums stood at 416.9 billion yuan for the first four months of this year, while property insurance premiums grew to 153.9 billion yuan, according to a report posted on the CIRC's official website.
The industry's total assets stood at 5.34 trillion yuan during the period, the report said.
