Chinese shares tumble after train crash

BEIJING-- Chinese shares tumbled on Monday, the first trading day following a deadly train collision in the eastern province of Zhejiang, which left 36 people dead and 192 others injured.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 2.96 percent to close at 2,688.75. The Shenzhen Component Index lost 3.13 percent to finish at 11,966.24.
