NANCHANG - The boss of a pharmaceutical factory in Jiangxi province was arrested for allegedly helping illegal buyers obtain a controlled substance, local drug authorities said Sunday.
The unnamed suspect has been accused of providing false documents for illegal buyers, who then used the papers to purchase about 10,000 packages (10 tablets per package) of a medicine containing cannabis.
The license of the suspect's company, Hanwei Yaoye, has been revoked.
As controlled substances are continually innovated, many drug dealers try to manufacture drugs from medicines, said an official with the Jiangxi Food and Drug Administration.
Jiangxi's medicine regulator vowed tougher measures against such crimes.
