China Qipao Town, a business cluster of traditional Chinese clothes and culture in Jiangsu province, has attracted a series of top Chinese fashion and cultural brands.

The town, located in Wujiang, Jiangsu province, covers an area of 386 square kilometers with planned investment of 6 billion yuan. Luxury fashion brands of traditional Chinese apparel, such as NE•TIGER, Jixiangzhai and Saint Joy, are starting to set up offices there since its launch in October.

"The town, with Qipao as a core symbol, integrates tourism, fashion and cultural industries together. It offers services in traditional Chinese etiquette, culture and apparel," said Zhang Zhongjun, chairman of Builtop Group based in Wujiang and the operator of the Qipao Town.

Wujiang has 4,000 years of history in silk making. The silk industry has become a pillar in the town with an annual output of more than 100 billion yuan ($14.5 billion).

Li Yugang, a famed Peking opera singer, just set up a workshop for his own brand, Jade Space, in the Qipao Town.

"I've always been fascinated by the splendid Chinese traditional signature cultural symbols, including clothes, painting, music, etc. The China Qipao Town has rich atmosphere as more tradition culture-related businesses move into it, which will be an ideal place for me to grow my brand," said Li.
