NEW YORK - A comprehensive China-US investment and cooperation database was launched on Wednesday in New York city, aiming at enhancing cooperation between the Chinese and US business communities and promoting Chinese investment in the United States.

The database, the first investment information database serving Chinese companies and their partners in the United States, was established by the China General Chamber of Commerce - USA (CGCC), the largest nonprofit organization representing Chinese enterprises in the United States.

The platform features CGCC members' key information, such as company information, locations, products and services, and major contacts. Subscribers can search company information by region, industry, or type.

Xu Chen, chairman of CGCC, said he hopes the database will be a convenient tool for members searching for information, seeking to form new partnerships and looking for business opportunities.

Meanwhile, the organization also launched a FDI (foreign direct investment) tracker on its new website. Companies are now able to track the number of deals Chinese companies have made in the United States, and investment volume by industry, investment type, and location.

CGCC has more than 1,500 company members, 53 of which are 2017 Fortune Global 500 companies.

By the end of 2016, CGCC Chinese member companies employed over 200,000 people in the US labor force and invested approximately $100 billion in various industries across the United States.
