China Development Bank (CDB), one of China's main policy banks, will only recruit major students from Harvard University or the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for its summer intern program.
The move has sparked criticism from some domestic college students who will not be able to apply due to the stringent requirements.

Besides the educational requirements, the bank set moderately demanding qualification levels in majors and abilities. Majors in finance, management and accounting are desired; and the company requires the applicants to be honest, team workers and to possess skills in analyzing, communication and excellent English.
Netizen also doubt the bank's intention. "CDB just wants to catch eyes," an internet user says. "It is an internship, not a real job."
A PR official with CDB denies their preference to top foreign university students, saying the internship recruitment this year is just a pilot project, which will include talents from domestic universities in the future.
