A spokesman for Huawei said at its headquarters in Shenzhen in south China's Guangdong Province that the order, issued by a local court in Illinois Tuesday, local time, required Motorola and NSN to take "all necessary steps" to ensure that Motorola does not transfer, and NSN does not acquire, any of Huawei's confidential information as part of NSN's acquisition of any records or assets of Motorola.

It also required Motorola to have a third party inspect the removal of all Huawei's confidential information, and to allow Huawei to make a final check of the information.

Huawei filed the lawsuit on January 24, seeking to stop the planned $1.2 billion sale of Motorola's networks business to NSN.

According to the spokesman, Huawei began extensive cooperations with Motorola in 2000, and Motorola has used much intellectual properties from Huawei.

"If the intellectual property of Huawei were transferred, the company would suffer huge losses," the spokesman said.
