Bird built nest in kitchen ventilator

A resident of Xinxiang, Henan province, last week found a bird nesting in her kitchen exhaust hood.

The woman, surnamed Zhang, found the kitchen ventilator wasn't working properly after she returned from a three-month out-of-town training assignment last summer.

Last week she asked a repairman to come and mend it.

To her surprise, the worker found a stack of hay and four eggs in the machine when he opened the vent. It turned out that the bird had built her nest in the ventilator.

Zhang then recalled that a bird had been twittering outside the window a lot.
