"Beijing's commerce sector will meet residents' various demands on multiple levels," said Lu Yan, director of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce. "The capital city's world trade center also will serve the whole country through its service trade platform."
Ni Pengfei, director of the Urban Competitiveness Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, suggested that the municipal government adopt innovative public policies to strengthen its public service capabilities and become a more service-oriented government.
