Local shareholders exchange information at a "roadside stock salon" in Shanghai, East China, Nov 12, 2011. The computers they use are equipped with home-made trading board software that tracks share prices. For the past 20 years, local shareholders have swarmed together at the gate of the Huangpu branch of Shenyin & Wanguo Securities, one of the earliest securities companies of the city, on weekends for a self-organized stock corner. The "roadside stock salon" is a microcosm of Shanghai's financial development and is becoming a barometer of the stock market. [Photo/Xinhua] |
