Boy with cancer cheered up by chess

Liu Yang (L), plays Chinese chess with a grand master at a hospital in Shenyang, Northeast China's Liaoning province, Dec 12, 2011. Liu Yang, 12-year-old, is suffering from Ewing's sarcoma, a very rare form of bone cancer that strikes children and adolescents. Being a huge Chinese chess fan, his biggest wish was to play the game against chess masters one day. The sentiment was echoed by hundreds of thousands on the Internet and appealed to a dozen masters to visit and play Liu as a way of encouragement for him to fight for recovery. [Photo/CFP]
