The notice said "a massive anti-China demonstration" is about to happen, within days, as tension between the two countries escalated following disputes over Huangyan Island in the South China Sea.

Chinese nationals are advised to be on alert, enhance safety awareness, and avoid going out, according to the notice issued by the embassy's Economic and Commercial Section.
