Fugitive fatally blows up policeman in Guangdong

GUANGZHOU - A policeman was killed after a suspect set off explosives while being chased by police in South China's Guangdong province on Sunday afternoon, local authorities announced on Monday.
The suspect, surnamed Liu, was pursued by police after an incident in which two pedestrians were stabbed in Huzhen town, Boluo county. Liu ignited the explosives, injuring five policemen and auxiliary policemen, according to the county government.
One policeman died in hospital after treatment failed.
Liu was later caught by police, and the incident is under investigation.
