The body of a female college student was found in a campus toilet in Central China's Henan province on Saturday, five days after she was reported missing, a local newspaper reported on Monday.
The 21-year-old student was a sophomore with the Zhengzhou-based North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power. Her body was found in a toilet close to a locked gate where people seldom went, the Henan Business Daily reported.
The last time she contacted her family was at about 11 pm on April 1.
Rumors among her classmates said that she was stabbed to death by an ex-boyfriend, but the police did not confirm that, according to the report.
Blood was found at the dust-covered toilet, which is about 8 square meters, the report said.
The victim's body has been taken to the hospital for an autopsy. No further information had been released by the police as of Monday morning.
