ZHENGZHOU - A male H7N9 bird flu patient in Zhengzhou City in central China's Henan province was discharged from hospital on Sunday afternoon following treatment.
The 38-year-old surnamed Wang is the capital's first and Henan's third H7N9 bird flu patient to have recovered, said the Henan Provincial Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
Wang is a live poultry trader from Nancao Village of Zhengzhou. He tested positive for the new strain of avian influenza on April 18 and was in critical condition.
The National Health and Family Planning Commission said on Wednesday that 108 H7N9 cases have been reported in China, including 23 that have resulted in death.
