BEIJING - China's top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng on Monday met with Mikhail Babich, a Russian presidential representative, pledging to boost region-to-region cooperation between the two countries.
"Region-to-region cooperation is a key area of practical cooperation between China and Russia," Yu said during his meeting with the representative.
Babich, Russia's Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District, is visiting China to launch a cooperation project between the district and the middle and upper reaches of China's Yangtze River.
The launch of the cooperation will help give play to mutually complementary advantages and achieve win-win reciprocity, said Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
He proposed that the two sides give priority to the cooperation in high-tech industries that can yield high value.
