1 dead, 8 injured in Taiwan road accident

TAIPEI - One person died and eight others were injured in a road accident that occurred Wednesday in central Taiwan's Alishan Scenic Area, a local travel agency said.
A bus fell off a roadside mountain slope at 2 pm, killing a tour guide and injuring eight tourists from the Chinese mainland, the agency said.
The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, according to the agency, adding that their injuries are not life-threatening.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
