5.6-magnitude quake hits Taiwan

BEIJING - A 5.6-magnitude earthquake jolted the sea area off Hualien county on Taiwan's east coast at 7:51 am Saturday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter, with a depth of 8 km, was at 24.0 degrees north latitude and 122.3 degrees east longitude, the center said in a statement.
