More than 200 university students from Henan were sent to work in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, but around 100 students did not get the promised employment, dahe.cn, a news portal run by Henan Daily, reported on Tuesday.
One student surnamed Guo said he was sent to Suzhou by a human resources company in Henan. Each student paid 150 to 200 yuan ($24 to $32) to the company before arriving in Suzhou, but only 40 got the promised jobs.
The students have contacted the police in connection with the case.
