70 detained in Hengyang prostitution crackdown

Police in Hengyang, Hunan province, detained 70 suspects in an anti-prostitution crackdown as of Saturday, Legal Weekly reported.
The operation, launched to squash illegal prostitution and gambling in the area, involved more than 800 police officers and investigations at 200 local hotels and 100 entertainment venues.
More than 40 hotels, sauna houses, massage centers and karaoke bars were found to have operated prostitution, gambling and related illegal events and have been forced to shut down.
