The Guinness Book of World Records is full of dazzling and amazing feats from all over the world. Now, as of Friday, there's a new one from Kunming, Yunnan province.
Wearing white shirts and carrying candles in their hands, 814 participants gathered at a square in Kunming at 7:30 pm on Friday. At 8:10 pm, they simultaneously blew out the candles and made New Year’s wishes.
The attempt smashed the previous record made in India in 2013, when 640 people blew out candles at the same time.
