The career of Sun Entertainment Culture Ltd Managing Director Paco Wong Pak-ko, 64, spans more than three decades in the Hong Kong entertainment industry.

Chairman of the Hong Kong division of Gold Typhoon from 2004 to 2011, Wong was also known as a "golden agent" - having helped many struggling artists go on to earn name and fame, including stars such as Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, Aaron Kwok, Sammi Cheng, Miriam Yeung, Sally Yeh, Sandy Lam and Leo Ku.

Gold Typhoon Entertainment, founded in 2004, is engaged in production and distribution, and promotes artists from the music industry. The company was formerly known as Gold Label Entertainment Ltd.

Before joining Gold Typhoon, Wong was chief executive of Go East Entertainment - a Hong Kong-based record company.

In 2004, Wong decided to leave Go East and work for EMI Hong Kong as they promised to launch a new label. Wong was to have total control of the new label which became Gold Label Entertainment.

EMI Music Hong Kong decided to delegate its local activities to Gold Label, leaving EMI to concentrate on international artists. Gold Label also took over EMI Hong Kong's local artist roster, which included Kary Ng, Stephy Tang, the now disbanded Cookies and Ping Pung, and Edmond Leung.

Established in early 2011, Sun Entertainment Culture aims to bring top-quality entertainment to audiences. Wong joined the company as managing director in 2012.

"With our passion, ambition and creativity, we produce and distribute TV and film productions, organize live concerts and create strategic marketing plans and events. We strive in building an enormous entertainment empire in Asia in order to bring the oriental entertainment culture to worldwide audiences," the company says on its website.

Movies that Sun Entertainment has invested in and produced include the hugely popular SPL II, Aberdeen and Vulgaria.

Sun Entertainment organizes concerts and other performances in Hong Kong, Macao and the mainland, like magician Lu Chen's "Dazzle" tour in the two SARs in 2012.

Stars managed by Sun Entertainment include Fiona Sit, Andy Hui, Alex Fong, Zolar Wind, Sharco Kang and Janice Man.
