China's top anti-graft body on Tuesday exposed five cases concerning irresponsibility in disciplinary issues, calling for lessons to be learned. One of the cases involved Wen Zhongliang, former deputy head of China Foreign Trade Center (Group) affiliated to the Ministry of Commerce. Wen took a laissez faire attitude toward gambling by his staff, wife and service providers of subsidiaries, according to a statement issued by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Wen also concealed his subordinates' use of prostitutes, fabricated reasons to cheat the Party organization and seriously violated Party rules. He has been dismissed from his post.

Another case involved Li Zongming, head of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center under the Ministry of Environmental Protection, who was punished because his subordinates traveled to Hainan province and Thailand at public expense.

Fu Jianjun, a section chief in charge of financial affairs at the center, was warned by the Party.

Liu Jianlin, former Shanghai bureau chief of the People's Daily, the newspaper of the CPC Central Committee, has been warned by the Party and dismissed from his post for failing to deal with the problem of excessive office space.
