Yangling Agricultural High-tech Fair opens

The 22nd China Yangling Agricultural High-tech Fair, an annual promotion and exhibition for agricultural development, opened on Thursday in Yangling National Agricultural High-tech Industries and Demonstration Zone in Yangling, Shaanxi province.
The fair is jointly sponsored by Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Science and Technology, State Forestry Administration, State Intellectual Property Office, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shaanxi provincial government.
With the theme of innovation leading characteristic and modern agriculture, the five-day fair from Nov 5 to 11 will hold more than 100 kinds of activities, including exhibition of agricultural technologies achieved by the countries along the Silk Road, international agricultural exchange and cooperation, modern agriculture theory research, exhibition for characteristic agriculture, delivery of agricultural science and technology information, agricultural technology consulting and training, project investment introduction and technology transaction, as well as selection and reward of outstanding agricultural projects and research achievements.
The total exhibition area is 157,000 sq meters divided into three indoor exhibition places and two outdoor ones with 1,750 standard exhibition booths for participants to display their projects and achievements, as well as for business talks and exchanges.
The fair has paid great attention to the Belt and Road Initiative and integration of internet and agricultural production and technology.
In order to provide convenient conditions for local farmers to take part in the fair, Xi’an Railway Bureau added 14 trains to carry the farmers all over the province to Yangling during the fair.
Since the launch of the fair in 1994, it has attracted more than 10,000 agricultural research institutes, enterprises from more than 70 countries, including the United States, Australia, Canada and Israel, and from 31 provinces, municipalities and regions. More than 22 million business people and local farmers have attended the fair to seal business opportunities and farming technologies and the total amount of investment and trade reached more than 540 billion yuan ($85.1 billion).
