Since 1986, it has become a tradition to set up flower parterre as National Day decorations around the 440,000 sq m Tian'anmen Square located in the center of Beijing. At first, it was a simple alignment of some colorful plants and flowers, then sculptures came, followed by fountains and lighting facilities and 3D technology. With different themes every year, the changes in flower parterre reflect the country's development.
