I still remember the bedtime stories my parents told me when I was 6 to 7 years old. Without any illustrations, the stories were only plain black words on white paper. I can only use my imagination to picture these stories in my mind, say, a prince who turns into a fish with three black spots on his body. Thanks to wiser publishing houses, now, those stories have become lovely pictures, satisfying a child's eagerness to touch the beauty of the world.
There are a group of Chinese illustrators and storytellers who worked together to create picture books about Chinese stories. In these books, there are no Western princes and princesses, but characters from traditional Chinese culture and fairy tales.
If you have some leisure time to sip Chinese culture with a cup of tea, or just want to share stories with your children, I recommend these 10 picture books, which also get four to five stars on Amazon.
