China and Nigeria celebrate upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival together

Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration called "Sharing the Same Time" and the "2017 China Story" Photo Exhibition kicked off at China Cultural Center in Nigeria on Sept 22, 2017.

Representatives from China embassy in Nigeria, China Cultural Center in Nigeria and Nigerian government together with cultural officials from other countries such as South Korea and Japan, overseas Chinese and celebrities from all walks of life attended the activity.

Cultural counselor of China embassy in Nigeria and director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Nigeria Li Xuda gave the speech of welcome. He said that Mid-Autumn Festival was an important event that celebrates the reunion of families in China, which is why China Cultural Center in Nigeria held the function.

In addition, China and Nigeria shared the same date of the National Day. As the National Day approached, a photo exhibition was also held to enable people to know more about China's achievements in ecological protection, healthy lifestyle, technology development, innovation and international exchange in recent years.

Permanent secretary of Nigerian Ministry of Information and Culture also delivered a speech. She expressed her understanding of the origin as well as customs of the Mid-Autumn Festival China. She also wished everyone a happy Mid-Autumn Festival and appreciated China's cultural prosperity brought by rapid economic development. Further exchange and cooperation between China and Nigeria have a bright prospect.

The Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration had wonderful performances including solo performance of pipa (a plucked string instrument with a fretted fingerboard) and African drum dance.
